California Women’s Conference – Haru Inouye, CEO

The 2009 California Governor and First Lady’s Women’s Conference in Long Beach, California gave inspiration to thousands of women. The conference featured a prestigious group of speakers including Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, First Lady Maria Shriver, Katie Couric, Madeleine K. Albright, Sir Richard Branson, Dr. Jane Goodall, Geena Davis, Elizabeth Edwards and Caroline Kennedy. An estimated 25,000 attended the two-day series of events. Shinnyo-en Foundation CEO Haru Inouye inspired many of the attendees by introducing the idea of Six Billion Paths to Peace and the potential for women to positively impact society.

Amy is a native of Sacramento, California and earned an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and proceeded to acquire a graduate degree in Business from the University of Chicago.
