The Women’s Conference
October 24-36, 2010
ANNUAL RETREAT
August 13th-15th 2010

The Annual Retreat will take place at the Marconi Retreat Center in Marshall, CA. The retreat will be facilitated by trainers from Youth to Youth International. Participants will have time to reflect on peace, service and their relationship to Six Billion Paths to Peace. In addition to guided reflection throughout the retreat, there will be time and space for relaxation and socializing through outdoor activities and art making. The participants this year include grantees and youth development and peace building leaders from all over the country.

California Women’s Conference – Highlights

The 2009 California Governor and First Lady’s Women’s Conference in Long Beach, California gave inspiration to thousands of women. The conference featured a prestigious group of speakers including Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, First Lady Maria Shriver, Katie Couric, Madeleine K. Albright, Sir Richard Branson, Dr. Jane Goodall, Geena Davis, Elizabeth Edwards and Caroline Kennedy. An estimated 25,000 attended the two-day series of events. Shinnyo-en Foundation CEO Haru Inouye inspired many of the attendees by introducing the idea of Six Billion Paths to Peace and the potential for women to positively impact society.

Amy Ambrose is the Director of International Relations at University of California Berkeley. Amy is a native of Sacramento, California and earned an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and proceeded to acquire a graduate degree in Business from the University of Chicago.
